St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery Medical Spa can help you avoid embarrassing social and professional situations caused by excessive underarm sweat and odor. MiraDry is a revolutionary non-surgical treatment that is FDA-cleared and clinically proven to permanently reduce underarm sweat, odor and hair typically in a single treatment.
Why miraDry?
In the past, treatments for hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) usually require incisions or injections to temporarily limit the activity of the sweat glands. The non-invasive miraDry treatment uses targeted thermal energy to safely and permanently eliminate sweat glands, odor, and hair follicles. You have 2-4 million sweat glands around your body – only 2% are found in your underarm area. Destroying these glands will not affect your body’s ability to cool itself, but it will increase your confidence and save you time and money on antiperspirants, deodorants, razors and replacing stained/ruined garments.

miraDry FAQ
How does miraDry work? miraDry uses thermal energy produced by electromagnetic technology to heat the underarm area where the sweat glands and hair follicles reside and safely eradicates them.
What about pain or downtime? Most patients describe the procedure as painless or very little discomfort, with little downtime. We use local anesthetic to numb the underarm area to ensure that patients remain comfortable throughout the treatment. Many return to regular activities immediately after, but we recommend avoiding strenuous activity for about a week post treatment. Underarm swelling, numbness, bruising, and sensitivity are common side effects that can be easily remedied with cold compresses and ibuprofen.
It is safe? After 140,000 treatments worldwide, miraDry has an excellent safety record. In 2015, the FDA cleared miraDry for the reduction of underarm sweat in as little as one treatment.
How many treatments will I need? While most patients have the desired outcome after one treatment, a second treatment may be needed with more severe cases. In very rare occurrences, a third treatment may be needed.
What is the cost of miraDry? The price of a miraDry treatment, like most cosmetic procedures, can vary depending on a number of factors as each patient is different. A licensed practitioner at St. Louis Cosmetic Surgery Medical Spa will discuss cost with you during the consultation.
