Why Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is an excellent exfoliating treatment for nearly all skin types. This procedure removes the outer layer of dead skin cells and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells, leaving the skin smoother. It can also help stimulate blood flow while encouraging collagen growth, reducing pore size, rejuvenating the overall health of the skin, and improving tone and texture.

Microdermabrasion FAQ

How does microdermabrasion work? The crystal-free microdermabrasion treatment available at our medical spa gently exfoliates the skin with a diamond-tipped wand while simultaneously vacuuming the dead skin cells and debris. This ensures there’s no loose abrasive particles to cause irritation or unwanted skin reactions.

What can microdermabrasion treat? Microdermabrasion is especially effective for treating clogged or enlarged pores, acne and blemishes, fine lines and rough, patchy skin. Microdermabrasion can also help minimize the appearance of mild acne scarring. Physician-approved intensive products are also used in conjunction with microdermabrasion to renew dull skin. You can also consider [link pid=”4081″]DiamondGlow™[/link] treatments, another impressive option for skin exfoliation, unclogging pores, and infusing powerful serums deep into the skin.

What types of microdermabrasion do you offer? Our medical microdermabrasion treatments are customized just for you at 3 different levels. Level I is a standard medical microdermabrasion treatment on the face and neck followed by a customized mask. Level II is slightly more intense and includes Level I microdermabrasion and a [link pid=109]chemical peel[/link]. Level III involves everything in Level II but also includes the décolleté area, where most sun damage occurs.

How many treatments will I need? Microdermabrasion is recommended in a series of 6 sessions for the most dramatic results. For an excellent age-fighting regimen, treat the skin with medical microdermabrasion every 2 to 4 weeks.

Your Treatment Experience

Microdermabrasion treatments are performed by a trained medical aesthetician. Your skin will be prepped, and then the diamond-tipped, crystal-free microdermabrasion wand is drawn across the skin. This process usually takes half an hour or less, and most people find it to be very relaxing and enjoyable. A chemical peel or mask may then be applied after your microdermabrasion treatment for enhanced results.

There are very few side effects associated with microdermabrasion. You should be able to return to your daily activities immediately without any signs of treatment. Some light peeling may occur in the next few days and should resolve after about 4 to 5 days. Microdermabrasion is often used in combination with photorejuvenation treatments such as [link pid=101]IPL[/link] for more dramatic effects.
